Glendale Senior Dining Showcases Special Event Talents at Senior Resident Communities
As seniors live longer and more active lives, many are taking a closer look at the quality of the dining experience and interpersonal dynamics between staff, residents and their families.
How can senior resident communities make a positive first impression? Glendale Senior Dining President Jim Hecker recommends special events where families and supporters can taste and see the food, and interact with staff one-to-one.
The dining services management provider to many of New England’s most prestigious senior resident communities, Glendale Senior Dining has a packed summer events calendar. Throughout the month of August, the company is hosting seafood fests and barbeques at communities including Maplewood Nursing Home, Scandinavian Living Center, Zelma Lacey House and OceanView at Falmouth.
In June, it hosted a lobster banquet for 200 residents and families at The Herrick House in Beverly, Massachusetts and a tented, full service clambake for 150 at The Mark Wentworth Home in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Both events went off without a hitch, says Hecker.
“Glendale Senior Dining did an outstanding job,” says William Henson, President & CEO of The Mark Wentworth Home. “The food was excellent, service was with a smile and the extra effort was obvious.”
“Our ability to stage top-notch events with no interruption to the day-to-day resident dining services is unique and highly valued by the senior resident communities that we serve,” says Hecker. “A lot of our capability has to do with the outstanding staffing synergy and resource support we get from our sister company, Café Services.”
